The SIFT tournament will utilise a format of one Chinese Super
League club, plus three internationally-recognised football
clubs, each one contracted to play only their best available
first team squad of players *, playing four matches over
a three-day period - two matches on Day 1, then a rest day and
two matches on Day 3 - each match of a 90-minute duration and
supervised by FIFA-recognised officials.
To produce a Champion to a tournament and ensure positive play
and subsequent spectator enjoyment, SIFT OC will adopt the
system that was developed by IEP S&L which remains totally
unique to it’s events:-
Points Scoring System:-
The tournament’s Champions will be the team with the most
accumulative points gained from their two matches. Points are
earned as follows:-
-
Individual match winner -- 3 points
-
Drawn match -- 1 point each to each team
-
Goals -- 1 point per goal scored
In the event of two or more teams being equal on points at the
end of the tournament, the Champion will be decided upon by the
following criteria:-
-
Goals scored within the regulation time of both matches
played. If the teams are still equal;
-
Least number of goals conceded within the regulation time of
both matches played. If the teams are still equal;
-
The fastest time of a goal scored within the regulation time
of either match played.
